Spicy Shells a la Vodka


  • 1 lb of Pasta Shells
  • 1 clove of garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup of tomato paste or tomato sauce 
  • 2 tablespoons of vodka
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of butter 
  • Sprinkle of Basil 
  • Salt/Pepper
  • Dash of Olive Oil 
  • 1 teaspoon of Chili Flakes
  • 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese - add additional to top of pasta for serving
  • 1/4 cup of minced onion 


  1. Add olive oil to a sauce pan on high heat. Mince onions and garlic and cook until onions become clear, and garlic has softened. 
  2. Add tomato paste and stir for about 5 minutes. 
  3. Add vodka, cream and chili flakes to the pot and stir for an additional 5 minutes and take off the heat. 
  4. Bring water to a boil in separate pot and cook dry pasta for about 8-10 minutes or until pasta is "al dente".
  5. Drain pasta and add a dash of olive oil or butter, to avoid the pasta from sticking. 
  6. Combine the sauce into the pot of pasta and begin to stir. Add the 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese to the pot and continue to stir. If you want it extra cheesy, add an additional sprinkle of cheese. 
  7. Season with a sprinkle of basil and salt/pepper.
  8. Plate and serve!
