Cauliflower Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp Basil, dried
  • 4 cups (dry, not cooked) Cauliflower (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano, dried
  • A pinch of dried onion seasoning
  • 1 Egg
  • Pinch of Salt/Pepper
  • Tomato Sauce
  • 1 fresh Tomato, sliced.
  • 1/4 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese (if you like it a little cheesier, add 1/2 cup) - you should have an additional supply for the toppings of the pizza.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (if you like it a little cheesier, add 1/2 cup) - you should have an additional supply for the toppings of the pizza.
  • Fresh Basil for Topping

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 425 F.
  2. For the cauliflower: I like to buy the pre-chopped cauliflower from the store, which most stores have these days. It saves an extra step when you are ravenous and cooking. If you cant find that in the store, then take a head of cauliflower and chop finely so it almost mimics a rice consistency.
  3. Take the cauliflower and add to a bowl with a splash of water. Heat in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Drain the bowl and press a paper towel onto the cauliflower so all liquids have been removed.
  5. Add 1 egg and the dry seasonings and mix thoroughly.
  6. On a baking sheet, place  parchment paper down so that it covers the whole pan.
  7. Place the dough onto the pan and shape the pizza crust as desired (i.e: circular or round). Make sure the crust is thin.
  8. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust begins to brown.
  9. Take out of over and apply the sauce as you would a regular pizza. Then apply the grated Parmesan cheese/fresh tomato slices.
  10. Sprinkle some fresh Basil on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes so that the cheese completely melts.
  11. Plate and serve!
